What is the Mississippi HOBY Leadership Seminar (LS)?
HOBY’s flagship program, the State Leadership Seminar, empowers high school sophomores to develop their leadership talents to become the leaders of their community. The seminar curriculum is based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership, and Leadership for Society. What do Students do at the State Leadership Seminar?
The three-day seminar weekend is filled with interactive activities and workshops that allow students to discover their personal leadership strengths. After understanding leadership from three different perspectives, students then learn to cultivate their skills to lead others and make a positive impact in their community.

Who can join the State Leadership Seminar?
The LS is only for sophomores, so don’t miss out! Students should visit their sophomore counselors if they are interested in participating.

Where and when is the Mississippi HOBY Leadership Seminar?
The 2025 Mississippi HOBY Leadership Seminar will be held May 30 - June 1 at Mississippi College in Clinton.  

How do students register for the State Leadership Seminar?
Students should visit their sophomore counselors if they are interested in participating in HOBY. Only School Administrators/Counselors can select and register students to represent their high school. After the student selections are made, School Administrators/Counselors login to the online registration system with their HOBY school ID and password to officially register students online.
